23rd Annual Blossom Time Balloon Festival
May 26th - May 29th, 2011
Since 1987, as part of the Chagrin Valley Jaycee’s Memorial Day activities, the Chagrin Blossom Time Balloon Festival has been providing Northeast Ohio with the beautiful and thrilling sight of multiple balloon ascensions. Each year, the residents of the Chagrin Valley and surrounding communities look forward to this family oriented event with anticipation. World and national champions have come from across the country to fly in the picturesque Chagrin River Valley, and typically you can see 20 hot air balloons each morning and evening of the festival competing for cash and glory. It is an amazing and impressive sight to see the tall, brightly colored and stately balloons launch and soar. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic, sit back and watch the show. This is a great family event, a fantastic photo opportunity, and it’s free!
The weekend will also include the 12th annual Blossom Glow, to take place at 8:00 pm at Chagrin Falls High School, Thursday, May 26th. As dusk nears, the balloons will lay out and inflate, tethered to the ground, for a beautiful twinkling dance, sure to light up your evening!
All events take place at Chagrin Falls High School, located on East Washington Street, unless otherwise noted. (East of downtown Chagrin Falls, and west of Route 306)
Ballooning is a fair-weather outdoor sport and extremely weather dependent. For safety reasons, our flight decisions are made on the most current weather conditions available, typically about an hour before the flight. Please check our Twitter feed below for the most current and up-to-date information regarding the weekend's hot air balloon activities, location changes and/or cancellations.
